Trade-Up System

The Trade-Up system lets you exchange unwanted Pokemon for a chance at upgraded rewards. It is a risk-reward system with configurable odds, anti-dupe protection, and shiny-value tracking.

How Trade-Ups Work

  • Open the Trade-Up GUI.
  • Select Pokemon from your party or PC to trade in. These Pokemon are consumed — you will not get them back.
  • The system shows you the potential reward pool with species-weighted odds. You can see the specific Pokemon you might receive and their probability percentages, displayed with Pokemon icons.
  • Review the confirmation GUI showing exactly what you're trading and what you might get.
  • Confirm the trade-up. The system rolls against the weighted odds and awards you a result Pokemon.
  • Reward particles play on success and Cobblemon sound effects accompany the result.
  • Key Features

    • Species-weighted odds: Each potential reward Pokemon has a different probability. Rarer or more desirable Pokemon have lower odds.
    • Tier system: Trade-ups are organized into tiers with different pools. Higher-tier trade-ups require better input Pokemon but offer better rewards.
    • Anti-dupe protection: The Pokemon Tracker system monitors ownership across the server and blocks detected duplicates from being used in trade-ups.
    • Shiny value tracking: Shiny Pokemon are tracked separately and may have different value calculations in the trade-up system.
    • Lock guards: During the trade-up process, your Pokemon are locked to prevent any duplication exploits. No trading, moving, or modifying the Pokemon while a trade-up is in progress.

    Tips

    • Trade up Pokemon you don't need — duplicates from breeding, common catches, and Pokemon with bad IVs/natures are good candidates.
    • Review the odds carefully in the confirmation GUI before committing. The Pokemon icons and percentages let you make an informed decision.
    • Trade-ups are irreversible — once confirmed, your input Pokemon are gone regardless of the result.
