Tournaments

Pokecade runs competitive Pokemon tournaments with bracket-based elimination, arena battles, spectator mode, and prize pools.

Tournament Flow

  • Signup Window (24 hours): An announcement goes out (including Discord notification). Players sign up during this window.
  • Team Lock-In (30 minutes before): Players must lock in their team 30 minutes before the tournament starts. Your team is frozen — no switching Pokemon after lock-in.
  • Check-In (15 minutes before): Players check in to confirm they are present and ready.
  • Bracket Play: Single or double elimination bracket. Players are teleported to the arena for each match.
  • Matches: Turn-based Cobblemon battles in a dedicated arena. If a player disconnects, they have a 120-second grace period to rejoin. No-shows are eliminated after 5 minutes.
  • Spectating: Both tournament entrants (between their matches) and non-entrants can spectate from a designated spectator area.

    Tips for Tournament Play

    • Build your team around the ruleset. Check banned species and clauses before team building.
    • At level 50, speed tiers shift compared to level 100 — some Pokemon that are fast at 100 may not outspeed others at 50. Study the speed tier list.
    • Item Clause means you can't stack two Leftovers or two Choice Scarves — diversify your held items.
    • Lock in your team early to avoid last-minute stress.
    • Spectate other matches to learn opponent strategies before you face them.
