How to Make Money
The Pokecade economy uses PokeDollars (displayed as $) as its primary currency, with Tokens as a secondary currency earned through research and adventures. Understanding how to earn and spend money is essential for progressing on the server.
Earning Money
Daily & Passive Income:
- Voting: Vote for the server on listing sites to earn $5,000 + 1 Vote Crate Key per vote. When the community reaches 50 total votes, a Vote Party triggers and everyone online gets a bonus Vote Crate Key.
- Daily Kits: Collect free item kits daily based on your rank using
/kit. - Chat Games: Pokemon-themed trivia and games pop up in chat periodically. Be the first to answer correctly for currency rewards.
- Welcome Rewards: Welcoming new players earns you rewards.
Active Grinding:
- Research Tasks: Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal research tasks for cash rewards. Daily tasks like "Catch 15 Pokemon" pay $1,500. Weekly and monthly tasks pay significantly more. See the Research section for full details.
- Adventures: Send Pokemon on timed missions for $4,000–$9,500 base rewards per mission plus type-match bonuses. See the Adventures section for details.
- Selling Pokemon on GTS: List Pokemon on the Global Trading System. Pokemon with good IVs, hidden abilities, or competitive natures sell for $10,000–$1,000,000. The minimum listing price scales with IV count (1 perfect IV = $10,000 minimum, 6 perfect IVs = $60,000 minimum).
- Catch Events: Participate in server-wide catch events. The May 2026 Catch Rally offered $200,000 + Legendary Crate Keys for 1st place and $5,000 + a random plushie for anyone catching 25+ unique species.
- Raids: Dealing 40%+ damage in a raid earns $50,000 + a Legendary Crate Key. Even participation with <5% damage earns a reward message. See the Raids section.
- Tournaments: Winning tournaments pays $100,000 for 1st place, $50,000 for 2nd, $25,000 for 3rd-4th, and $5,000 for participation.
- Gym Challenges: Challenging and defeating gyms earns rewards.
Breeding for Profit:
Breed Pokemon with perfect IVs, competitive natures, and egg moves, then sell them on GTS. A 6IV Pokemon with the right nature can sell for $60,000+. Hidden ability Pokemon have a $50,000 minimum price on GTS. Legendaries have a $50,000 minimum. This is one of the most reliable long-term money-making strategies.
Spending Money
- Poke Balls: Basic balls cost $300, Great Balls $750, Ultra Balls $1,500, Quick Balls $2,500. The weekly shop sells Master Balls for $50,000.
- Infrastructure: PC Block $20,000, Healing Machine $25,000, Pasture Block $20,000.
- GTS Purchases: Buy Pokemon from other players (max listing price: $1,000,000).
- Specialty Balls: Friend Balls, Level Balls, Lure Balls, Heavy Balls are $3,000 each.
- PokeBuilder: Spend tokens to customize Pokemon IVs, nature, ability, shiny status, and more.
Tokens
Tokens are a secondary currency earned through research tasks and adventures. Research tasks typically award 25–100+ Tokens. Adventure missions award 100–250 Tokens with type-match bonuses. Tokens are spent on PokeBuilder customizations and other premium services.
